Tournament Purpose

Computer The world of Go has entered a new ground with the emergence of Alpha Go. Therelationship between the Go world and the computer Go is not a simple one saying "which isstrong?", But has a sense of establishing as a partner to pursue the possibility of Go moredeeply.

"UEC Cup Computer Go Tournament" held by the University of Electro-Communications"Entertainment and Cognitive Science Research Station" since 2003 was ended while beingmissed by the 10th convention in March 2017, but the world The world of computer Go hasbecome more and more popular, such as "China's Computer Go Opening Fight" will be held inAugust the same year in China which became a great country of Go now when turning to theattention.

So we inherited the intention of the "UEC Cup Computer Go Tournament" and in collaborationwith the University of Electro-Communications "Entertainment and Cognitive ScienceResearch Station", in the position as the official successor event, as "AI Go Long Star Battle" The UEC Cup will be renewed and the 2nd tournament will be held at Nihon Ki-in Headquarter 2F for twodays from December 15 (Saturday) and December 16 (Sunday).

We look forward to the participation of many developers as a conference to contribute to thefurther development of computer science field of computer Go and the Go world.
